House Progress: Ready for Drywall

I don't really have any good pictures to post, because most everything that has happened in the last week has been behind the walls. HVAC, plumbing, and insulation are finished, along with wiring for electricity, cable, phone, speakers, and security system.

We had our pre-drywall meeting with the project manager yesterday. Everything went well. They're ahead of schedule, and he says the house should be finished mid-August (rather than late-August). We should get our actual closing date next week.

The drywall has been delivered and it's ready to go. They're due to start today or tomorrow. The brick has also been delivered and the bricking crew is likely working right now.

Here are a couple not-so-great pics, but they're likely the only ones I'll have before the walls go up.

A shot of the family room. Fireplace is straight on. Imagine the TV on the wall to the right, and couch on the wall to the left (which is the back of the house).A shot of the kitchen and morning room. You can kind of see where the cabinets and island will go, as they're marked in orange paint (click on the picture and it will get bigger). The morning room on the right of the picture is at the back of the house, and where the kitchen table will go. The door on the left goes to the garage.

Gosh, it seems like the house sprung up overnight. They are moving so quickly. In no time at all, you'll be in your new dream home. That's so awesome!
